CASCADING HEARTS LP (6).png

New Age Oblivion LP

ALBUM TITLE ORIGIN

The meaning of the album title references an homage to the name selected by the band by democratic vote under the leadership of Wolff, The Cascades. The ensemble engaged in full-band practice in a rented studio, and then later at a local D.C. church. The recordings were made at the rural house of our ensemble percussionist. Under the iteration "The Cascades", the band performed several local D.C. shows, and despite recording, the project was abandoned without the capital to mix and master the recordings. Now, years later, in the process of completing the discography, Wolff has revisited the recordings, editing, finalizing, and mastering the music for release under "The Wild Wolves". With the compositions complete, the album has been released as the third sequential full length, following in time to the prior recording eras of Eyes Like Stars, and King of Clouds.

DEDICATIONS

I dedicate this album to my mom who always believed in my musical talent and helped me hone and develop my skills and inspire me to practice and study music theory and always believed in me. Also, to my dear family, my two boys, I hope they will grow up to listen to this lifetime of effort and care into the craft to establish my legacy in this discography. I hope these songs survive me, that they touch the world, that the whole of my work, my music, my technology companies, that they will be my great legacy and that they inspire other people to try and change the world, no matter the overwhelming odds and adversity, it just takes patience and dedication and sacrifice. Never give up on your dreams.

Lost Lonely Stranger

Lost lonely stranger, who are you looking at, in your reflection, who is looking back,

And I been told, we’re many faces in the fold, already sold to the suckers who sold their soul

And rolled the dice of life every day of the year,

They said we will make this night ours, we will make this night ours,

We will pull the sky down, we will stretch the stars out,

Fill the forgotten parts of, all the vapid new age high tech hearts, lost lonely stranger look away,

You’re so far, far away your lonely beats, to the screen of a broken tv, so utterly hypnotizing, so clear to see

We will make this night ours, we will make  this night ours, we will pull the sky down, we will stretch the stars out,

Fill the forgotten parts, all the vapid new age high tech hearts, lost lonely stranger, look away,

So far, far away your lonely, to the screen of a broken tv, so utterly hypnotizing, so clear to me

So far, far away a lonely heart beats

When We Arrive

One thousand miles before we reach hope and progress in this heartland,

We can make it if we try but should we believe the new age oracle or the prophecies behind her eyes

You too can see it in the stars and in the signs, in our heads and in our hearts

When we kiss it’s like nothing else, it’s like nothing else

And I can’t shake this feeling, this heavy feeling like we’re sinking, were sinking  into a new age oblivion and it takes my breath away, it’s so dangerously safe

Can you feel, can you feel it, would you tell me, would you kiss me yeah

Can you feel the shocking new truth like lightning coursing through you, like electricity it's burning me to even think,

Can we believe, if it can’t be seen

And on the pointy end of the needle less than a thousandth of a width of a human hair will exist, my temple in the center there, and it will weigh in at a thousand suns for all the thousands of miles we still have to go and only when we arrive will we truly know

I can’t shake this heavy feeling like we’re sinking

Can you feel, can you feel it, would you tell me, would you kiss me yeah

03
Invisible Forces

Catatonically pre-dictated every turn of the page, Nietzsche has nothing on you when you go all the way,

Carefully now, blasting lights above your head, sounding like a thousands thunder strikes right next to your bed

Where your rest, in the soft grass, smoking cigarettes, wherein laurels around your head,

Illuminating the slender silhouette of your painted fingers,

wrapped around the trigger, ready to deliver the messenger,

Mechanical love, is this what we’ve become, automatic automaton

Somewhere in between here and there, I’ve had lost your hand in the darkness,

I don’t care, no I, I don’t care, no I, I don’t care, no I, I don’t care

Mechanical love, without it we are so lost, those fascists, they have no power over us,

Though our heads are in the clouds, we are cruel animals cut off, with bloody broken open hearts,

We are more than our parts,

We are more than our parts

04
Lakeview

Stuck in this desert for eternity, and I don’t know why, I just woke up here one day

I never feel hungry or thirsty, I just walk and walk away

Among the sands and the rocks,

That stretch from here to infinity,

Breath out and get in wherever your headed breath in again and

show us the tough stuff you're made of

Even though you can still remember the taste of all of those bitter days spent loving that lake

Someday you will find your place

Get out get in wherever life leads you breath out and in again and again

Stand up stand tall wherever life leads you be strong and you will find true love

Breath in and out and in again and again and again

05
Raise The Sails

Such a big, big heart for such little boat,

I bet it could sink to the bottom and you would still want more

As the fair trades winds rock you back and forth

In this tranquil lake 30 feet from shore,

So lets make a plan, and get back on land

We will raise we will raise the sails, we are tough we are tough as nails

But why should I, oh why should I

But why should I, should I

Raise the sails! Set course for landfall, the fair trade winds shall surely guide our hearts

Breath out breath  in wherever you’re headed breath out and in

Get out and get in, wherever you’re headed again and again

06
Park Ranger

Lost to the twisting, winding path, where even the dark will never last, stuck in the past, no safety net

Quiet like death, in this dark forest

Even the mighty lions eyes will someday lose their shine

Hold on it will quickly be gone, listen to the click of the gun

King of a wilderness gone, lets see how far we can run

Quickly we’ll quickly get away, quickly we’ll quickly get away, make our getaway together, forever, together

Living on the run, living by the gun

Hold on, hold on,

07
String Theory

Gotta try and let it go this burning feeling in my soul and cut the strings that hold me so,

Tightly and wont let me go, it has control, oh oh oh,

And on the other end we’ll find a mirror image of our lives

And in it a cosmic puppet master born blind, and can see you through a third eye

And let it try to break the wall that I have built from it all and burn my mortal empty shell

It breaks and rips my beating heart, tears my particles apart, in the name of higher art, breaks and rips my beating heart,

Well someone told me it was just a dream, that it didn’t mean anything,

Are you awake, well are you awake, well are you awake, or are you just dreaming

They say, they say, they say it’s a theory, they say, they say it’ll kill me, they say, they say it’s controlling,

Like a puppet dangling from string, they say, they say it’s a theory, but it cannot control me, no it control me,

They say, they say it’s a theory, but it cannot control me, no it cannot control me

In Your Reflection (Radio Cut)

Three headed monster, who are you looking at, in your reflection, who is looking back,

And I been told, we’re many faces in the fold, already sold to the suckers who sold their soul

And rolled the dice of life every day of the year,

They said we will make this night ours, we will make this night ours,

We will shake this town up, lift up souls with our sensual arts,

Fill the forgotten parts of, all the lonely monsters empty hearts, three headed monster, look away,

You’re so far, far away your lonely beats, to the screen of a broken tv, so utterly hypnotizing, so clear to see

We will make this night ours, we will make  this night ours, we shake this town up, lift up souls with our sensual arts,

Fill the forgotten parts, all the lonely monsters empty hearts, three headed monster look away,

So far, far away your lonely, to the screen of a broken tv, so utterly hypnotizing, so clear to me

So far, far away a lonely heart beats
